Breaking News June 6, 2005 - Progress report out Wednesday By Bob Ebben & Rev. Jake Close, for Daily Tribune There's been a great deal of activity in our communities directed toward creating a stronger and more positive place to live, work and play - right here in Nekoosa, Pittsville, Port Edwards, Rome, Rudolph, Vesper, Wisconsin Rapids and all our surrounding townships. What does it mean to "Make It Happen!" and what is the Community Progress Initiative? These are good questions, and although there are many of us involved in industry clusters, progress teams and other areas, we still have people asking. Please watch for the "Report to the Community," a 20-page tab that you will find in your Daily Tribune on Wednesday. The "Report to the Community" will give you a solid overview of more than 50 programs, teams and committees taking time out of their busy days to make the vision of a stronger community and business culture a reality. The "Report" is all about the hundreds of residents, young people, employees and employers eager to share with you what has begun and been accomplished in one short year since the Initiative began. It is chock-full of information, quotes, photos and ways to get involved. It's designed to not only inform, but also inspire. We sincerely thank those who are already involved, dedicating many hours to setting objectives and taking action. And we invite those not yet involved to take the first step. Please read the "Report to the Community" when it becomes available on Wednesday, and see for yourself how you can play a part in the Community Progress Initiative. After all, it's your future. |
