Breaking News April 7, 2005 - Group works to develop Web Site By JR Siewert for the Daily Tribune Editor's note: The Daily Tribune will regularly run columns updating readers on the progress of the Community Progress Initiative's industry cluster groups. The cluster groups - designed to enhance the local economy - each have a specific focus. This week, co-chairman JR Siewert writes about the progress of the New e-conomies cluster. The New e-conomies cluster of the Community Progress Initiative is made up of dedicated members of the community including Chad Bormann, Dr. John Dietrich, Kenny Mack, David Mueller, Jim Saylor, Carolyn Saylor, Fred Siemers, J.R. Siewert, Leif Street, Mark Swanson and John A. Wellens. The team meets routinely from 7 a.m. to 8:15 a.m. Tuesday mornings at predetermined locations and is dedicated to promoting the growth of a technology based e-conomy in the Greater Wisconsin Rapids area. Specifically, the team is working to reinvent the local community in an effort to offer more diverse business and lifestyle opportunities. It is the team's shared vision that Wisconsin Rapids and the surrounding communities will become better poised for the future by moving toward a more diversified technology-based e-conomic structure. The most significant focus of the New e-conomies cluster at this time is the development of a community Web site that will act as a resource and an attraction for existing local employers, interested new businesses, visitors and residents. An additional focus of the New e-conomies team will be to work with new as well as existing businesses to address technological concerns, needs and questions and to provide them with possible solutions that fit their specific business models. This Community Progress Initiative cluster is interested in additional input from the community at large. To visit or participate in the New e-conomies cluster, please contact one of the three cluster co-chairmen: Chad Bormann of Power Computing Solutions, Inc., chadbormann@charter.net (424-8300); J.R. Siewert of Coldwell Banker Siewert Realtors, jrsiewert@coldwellbanker.com (424-4800); John Dietrich of Dietrich Chiropractic, SC, dr.johndc@wctc.net (423-4050). |
